Very good pack I’ve hiked 200+ miles with this pack, including three weeks on the JMT. My loads varied from 30 pounds up to 60 pounds on some flat-land training hikes. The Baltoro always handled the load comfortably. Very happy with the design, packing and access to stowed gear. The water bottle pocket is very well designed for easy access and stowing when hiking. The three pockets on the brain is smart. Zippers, straps and material all held up great. One suggestion: make the pockets on the belt strap…
Very comfortable with heavy loads. Great pockets and zippers. This is the most comfortable pack I have ever used. I just returned from a backpacking trip in the Sipsey Wilderness, AL. We got on the wrong trail and ended up bushwhacking it for extra 4 hours, camp, then getting lost for an additional hour or two while bushwhacking back out. This is followed by a rain soaked slog back to the trailhead. To help out on the return I took on some extra gear weight in my pack. If you’ve ever been out in the Sipsey you’ll know the terrain can resemble the planet…
